Paloma Noceda of Peru Finishes 3rd in P1 AquaX 250 Class

Finishes 3rd on the podium; P1 AquaX 250 Class, March 25, 2015

Only 2 points separated Paloma from being the first female P1 AquaX Champion

Paloma Noceda is from Lima, Peru, and in 1998 she was the first Peruvian rider to qualify to ride for Team Yamaha Racing and has since represented Peru in 3 continents: America, Europe and Africa. Over the weekend, Paloma Noceda was racing to be the first female P1 AquaX Champion of the series. The race went down to the wire with only 2 points separating Noceda from the leader, Eric Lagopoulos. All eyes were on the 250 Class final race of the season in Tavares, Florida, as the championship was up for grabs. Lagopoulos managed to stay ahead of Noceda in Race 1. Then Noceda shut out Lagopoulos in Race 2. In the final race, Noceda built a strong lead, however, a heartbreaking get off for Noceda allowed Lagopoulos to take the Championship out of the Peruvians hands. The overall standings for the weekend went to Brian Baldwin in 1st, Lagopoulos in 2nd and Noceda placed 3rd on the podium.
